The 8 hour final to a year of experimentation and discovery this culminated in the achievement of being among the top 10 in edexcel’s 3D design world wide, in the year of 2008.
This project was based on first hand form exploration and research of the city and building materials. It is created from layered and stacked round stock materials. This includes PVC pipes, bamboo, metal, wooden dowels, and different types of foam, all held together with drill holes, tie wrap and glue. Made of stacked but independent units it can easily be disassembled into multiple parts without the form falling apart. Experiments with light were conducted and applied in 6 locations. It also functions as a magazine and book holder with rolled magazines in pockets, and two bookshelves.
